I was hoping to show some pictures and see if anyone had any idea what model radio this is.The only model number on it is K-1721 Which brings me up nothing in an internet search.
This was taken from my grandmas who was going to just give it to goodwill, and I am curious of the model and possibly if it has any value. ![]() Its not especially valuable but it does look like its in nice condition, and the cabinet style is more interesting then most, sort of a Danish Modern style. Im guessing that it has sliding doors on the front, most cabinet stereos had lift up lids on the top to cover up the radio and phonograph. If you like it I would take it if you have room, they are easy and inexpensive to fix up if you can work on it yourself. ![]() Then Philco then started using the alphabet, starting with the letter B in 1954. C1955, etc. The letter I was not used. This continued up until around 1966 (P) when Ford merged with Philco about that time. I remember when my parents purchased this very model and had it delivered home; it was 1961 or 1962. My mother has exceptional taste and this was the most modern and elegant stereo console available at the time. I played my Beatles albums endlessly on this as well as my mothers opera and classical music. Im so sorry they finally sold it as well as other period pieces when they retired.
